Hello ladies and gentlemen! I meant to post this blog post a month ago, but this year has started off like a rocket leaving the earth to go to those strange places beyond what the eye can see: by that I mean that it has gone by quite quickly, not that it has blown up or anything of that nature… thankfully. But, I digress, so I will turn back to the topic at hand.
Here we are, already a month into 2025 and here I am: still looking back at 2024 with those rose tinted glasses I’ve come to love.
Now, I feel that I have doubly confused you with metaphors that are a tad far fetched, so let me explain myself: today I am sharing my favorite photos (that I took) in 2024.
But, I feel it necessary to add that you probably realized I was going to share my favorite photos because you read the title and it piqued your curiosity. If you clicked on this post without reading the title, then you are a very strange human being and I don’t understand what would lead you to do such a thing.
I have digressed once more! Look at me, digressing here and there. Well, I will detain you no longer, so without further ado, let’s get into it!

These first two photos (above and below on a phone screen) I took on a family walk. Toward the end of the walk, we discovered this lake. The clouds and reflection were so beautiful that I couldn’t help but take pictures. How wondrous God’s nature can be!
(Both taken with an iPhone)

The photo on the left (or above on a phone screen) I took in Hawaii. I love this photo once again because of the reflection, but also because of the bird that is flying by. The bird was a happy accident. It just happened to fly by right as I took the shot. (Taken with an iPhone)
The photo on the right (or below on a phone screen) I also took in Hawaii. My family and I had gone for a walk to the beach. The tail to the beach led us through a desolate wasteland of lava rock. On the way back from the beach, I noticed how incredible the clouds looked. The beauty of the sky, when compared to the desolation of the lava rock was mesmerizing. So I took some photos to try and capture it. Unfortunately, I feel like the photo just didn’t do it justice. Correctly capturing clouds and the light shining through them is quite hard to do. (Taken with and iPhone)

The photo below was taken on the same day (and in the same location) as the previous photo. I love the colors in this photo and the path that winds through the lava rock. (Taken with an iPhone)

The photo on the right (or below on a phone screen) was also taken in Hawaii. We had all gone down to the beach that evening to watch the sunset.
The sunset itself was beautiful, but the reflection of it in the wet sand made it even more gorgeous. I wanted to capture the reflection but when I took the pictures I felt like something was still missing. So, I added some footprints to the sand.

I love how the photo turned out. I feel like it tells a story. What that story is though, I’m still trying to figure out. 😁 (Taken with an iPhone)

The above photo was taken on the last night of the Hawaii trip. We had gone out to dinner at a restaurant by the beach, and while we were waiting for a table to become available, we went for a walk. On that walk, I took this photo. (Taken with an iPhone)
The photo below was also taken in Hawaii. I used a Nikon DSLR with a star filter. I love the warmth of the light and the way it reflects off the clouds. How kind is our God to give us the a beautiful gift of gorgeous sunsets!

The above photo was taken at a volcano in Hawaii, (the cover photo for this blog post was taken while standing in the crater of the same volcano). I love these two photos: the grey palette with pops of green. They feel like a shot from a movie. (Taken with an iPhone)

I would like to note that these photos are edited to bring out the colors of the aurora borealis. The night sky was much more muted then the photos but still incredible! (Taken with a Nikon DSLR)

These three photos were taken in May on the night of the great aurora show, (where the aurora borealis could be seen around the US). That night my whole family gathered on the porch to watch the colors flicker across the sky. I brought my DSLR out with me and tried to capture the beauty of it all (using long exposure).

The photo below was taken whilst on a family outing to Seattle. I really love how this photo turned out! It has a fun vintage vibe (which the camper makes all the better!) and it honestly reminds me of those miniature towns that they would make for films. (Taken with an iPhone)

The photo below was taken on the same family outing as the one pictured above. I took this photo whilst on the walk that overlooked the ocean. I like the contrast of the soft clouds and trees with the harsh modern metal roof. (Taken with an iPhone)

The above photo was taken in a different city than the previous two photos. I was at a convention with my dad and some of my siblings. In between sessions we went on walks. On one of those walks, I took this photo. I love the crisp lines and bold colors in this photo. But, I also love the city, so of course I’m drawn to a photo like this one. 😁 (Taken with an iPhone)
